Summary of the Afterlife
The Afterlife is a story about life after death and the journey of a spirit. The story begins when the main character, Chuy, is stabbed in the bathroom for making a remark about a stranger's shoes. The story continues while Chuy journeys around his hometown of Fresno and visits his family and friends. There he meets a fellow ghost named Crystal and possibly falls in love.
The Afterlife tells a wonderful story. It shows that life can end at any moment, so we should not take it for granted. It also shows that, in some cases, we can take what we have for granted until it is gone. In Chuy's case, he takes his parents for granted, and realizes when hes gone how much he really misse them. In the end, The Afterlife is an amazing story of loss, hope, and love.

I believe the reason that Chuy and his murderer had the same name was to make a connection between the two. Although they were complete opposites, having the same name helps the readers make a connection and adds depth to the story.-

I think they have the same name because they are foil characters. Foil characters are two opposite people with something in common. The connection between the two characters is their name.
