Summary of the Afterlife
The Afterlife is a story about life after death and the journey of a spirit. The story begins when the main character, Chuy, is stabbed in the bathroom for making a remark about a stranger's shoes. The story continues while Chuy journeys around his hometown of Fresno and visits his family and friends. There he meets a fellow ghost named Crystal and possibly falls in love.
The Afterlife tells a wonderful story. It shows that life can end at any moment, so we should not take it for granted. It also shows that, in some cases, we can take what we have for granted until it is gone. In Chuy's case, he takes his parents for granted, and realizes when hes gone how much he really misse them. In the end, The Afterlife is an amazing story of loss, hope, and love.

I think it is a combination of the two. Chuy truly had feelings for Crystal, yet he also felt lonely and he wanted to be with a girlfriend. Chuy could easily relate to Crystal becase they are both dead.

I believe Chuy both loved Crystal and wanted a girlfriend because he was not really stable. At the same time he really liked her and also, wanted a girlfriend because he was emotionally lost, and lonley. He wanted somebody to care for him, and he wanted this person to be somebody he really liked. So in the end I think that it was both.
